Ephedrine

What is ephedrine?
Ephedrine is one of the most effective and controversial substances used for weight loss. It is a potent fat loss agent and CNS stimulant (especially when combined with caffeine) and also effective in the treatment of asthma. However, there are also many reports of adverse events that are possibly associated with ephedrine use that have prompted many people to call for further regulation of the compound.

Chemically, ephedrine is a phenylpropanolamine, a class of stimulant compounds that include ephedrine, psuedoephedrine, norephedrine, and cathine. Ephedra (also known as Ma Huang), a traditional Chinese herb, contains varying concentrations of phenylpropanolamines and other alkaloids and is the primary source of ephedrine sold in most over the counter preparations. Ephedra has been in use for over 5000 years for its stimulant and antiasthmatic properties.

“Abs are made in the kitchen, not in the gym!

“Abs are made in the kitchen, not in the gym!

No amount of weird exercises or machines will magically reveal your abs. The ONLY way to reveal your abs is to lose that layer of fat covering them. Now, the only way to lose the abdominal fat is by consistent dieting and cardiovascular exercise. Period. All those odd hanging, leg twisting, body contorting exercises are no better than simple crunches.

The big problem is that intellectually, many people totally agree. However, emotionally it does not click. I know this because day after day I see people doing marathon abdominal work. They do four or five different exercises. They think the more they do, the more defined their abs will become. They try to target the upper, lower, inner and outer, left, right, etc. Give me a break. They do tons of weighted side bends trying to get rid of the love handles.

T-3 for fat loss

T-3 for fat loss

Listen closely because this article is going to reveal some little-known, almost secret facts about thyroid hormone, a piece of the fat-burning puzzle so overlooked that even many pro bodybuilders have trouble putting it in place at showtime. In fact, coming in “soft” is the number-one fear of every bodybuilder who’s ever carried armor-plated muscle onstage. Being called smooth is like someone talkin’ trash about your mom—you just don’t want to hear it. Thanks to ground-breaking research on a new thyroid-hormone-stimulating compound called T-3, however, the fear of being smooth will vanish. That’s because T-3 takes the fat-burning process to a level well beyond standard thermogenics.

Before we go into detail on how T-3 was scientifically formulated, though, you need to know more about the thyroid gland so you can understand how thyroid hormones work. It is one of several endocrine glands in the body that function primarily to secrete metabolism-regulating hormones. The word hormone in Greek means “to arouse.” For example, the hormones testosterone and growth hormone arouse muscle growth by rapidly increasing the protein-turnover rate, or protein synthesis. And as every hard-training bodybuilder knows, the more abundant those hormones are (within reasonable limits), the more abundant the increases in muscle size.

The science of topical fat loss 2

The science of topical fat loss 2

Lets face it almost everyone has some spots of fat he or she wants to get rid off. This is called spot-reduction. I wrote about it here http://juicedmuscle.com/jmblog/content/helios-injectable-liposuction

This particular item was and is very popular and thats why the lab asked me to develop a lotion or cream. Because it became also very popular by females. A beauty clinic that also bougt phosphocholine (meso) products, wanted it for its female clients, that didn't want to inject on a daily basis and wanted to continue at home with a non-injectable alternative.I made a few different ones with a different formula. First of course the topical version of the injectable. Later a version with Glycyrrhetinic acid, becuase scientific research showed some stunning succes in fat loss with this active ingredient.. The lab later stopped production of creams and lotions due to the high price of the active ingredients and the big amount of work. They conciddered production in China, but decided to stick to their core business. I would really loved it to create new  topical products and tried them on female friends to messure the results as i used to, but...sad

The Science of Topical Fat Loss

I have previously stated that I believe transdermal prohormones to be the most effective supplements ever to hit the market. That statement must now be amended. Transdermal prohormones are indeed the most effective MUSCLE BUILDING supplements ever to hit the market. But, topical fat loss products have the potential to be an even bigger overall breakthrough in the never ending quest to improve body composition.

There are four areas that need to be addressed in regards to topical fat loss products and so called "spot reducers" in general.

First, one needs to distinguish between the products that are merely diuretics and those that the manufacturer (assuming they have a brain) actually thinks might significantly reduce body fat.

Second, we have to have an understanding of the andrenergic system, which is primarily what these products attempt to manipulate in order to aid lipolysis.

A drug to make you thin

A drug to make you thin

Pharma companies large and small are in hot pursuit of the blockbuster of all blockbusters -- a drug that lets you lose weight safely and effortlessly.

A drug to make you thin! Drug marketers go glassy-eyed when they calculate the potential. At least 44 million Americans are obese -- as many as 60 million by some estimates. And for reasons that go well beyond the associated health problems, virtually everyone who is fat is desperate not to be. In a 1991 University of Florida survey of 47 formerly obese adults -- who had each lost 100 pounds or more through gastric bypass surgery -- the majority said they would rather be deaf or blind than be fat again. In a more recent study, children who were shown pictures of other children with various disabilities -- with crutches, in a wheelchair, with an amputated hand, and overweight -- picked the pudgy child as the most unlikable in the group. In a culture that so vilifies fat, it's difficult to imagine that an effective cure for the obese wouldn't quickly find its way to the merely overweight -- another 67 million customers.

Moreover, an obesity medicine is not something patients would take only until they "got better." It could be consumed by tens of millions of Americans every day for years. Estimates of the annual revenue for such a market range from $25 billion to $50 billion within 10 years, depending on how many non-obese users wangle prescriptions. Even at the lower estimate, weight-loss pills would be by far the single most lucrative category in the history of pharmaceuticals. At $50 billion in annual U.S. revenue, they would outsell today's three largest drug categories -- cholesterol-lowering statins ($13.5 billion), antidepressants ($13.2 billion), and heartburn medications ($12.9 billion) -- combined.

HELIOS injectable liposuction.

 HELIOS injectable liposuction.

Helios was originally developed by an idea from the legendary body-building guru Dan Duchaine.   Hard Core Labs (HCL) is selling this extremely potent solution on the bodybuilding market. The ingredients (Clenbuterol and Yohimbine HCL) are forbidden in almost every country, as well as administration via injection. This is only allowed by a doctor or medical trained nurse. But this form of administration is also the best way for spot reduction.

The art of spot reduction.

When you begin a diet, you may notice that you lose fat very unevenly on your body. The areas you don't wish to concentrate your fat loss seem to be most responsive to the restriction of calories. On the other hand, the areas you desire to shed fat seem to be unaffected by the diet. In women, the breasts may be shrinking, while the lower body remains as fat as it was. In men, even if the waist is getting smaller, the abs are not getting any more visible. Why put your body through a tough and often unhealthy diet if unwanted inches of fat remain? What we want is a specifically targeted fat loss, but we are told that spot reduction is impossible! Is this true?

How to get a lean body (fat loss)

More then 70% of what we eat is burned by our muscles, even in rest. So even when you are not develop any activity our muscles burn calories (Energy Expenditure at Rest). Only a small part of our caloric intake is used as energy to move or exercise. The more muscles you have the more calories you burn while resting.

We also covered part of it here: http://juicedmuscle.com/content/exercise-not-key-weight-loss

Ther are more ways of loosing weight with help of thermogenic supplements drugs like T3, clenbuterol or medication like phentermine etc. Also injectable compounds to loose stubbern fat on specific places like "Helios" will covered in other articles in the fatloss catagory thus keep an eye open for future articles.

Unfortunaly there are no shortcuts to fat reduction or to achieving a toned and sculpted body. Long term results can only be achieved by following an integrated bodybuilding and nutrition plan; in doing so you will reduce your body fat percentage and increase lean muscle mass.

You should not be so concerned with weight loss as it is more about body shape and it is the increase in lean muscle (which is heavier than fat) that plays a key part in any fat loss program.

Will Contrave Be the Next Big Weight Loss Pill?

Combo Weight Loss Pill Fights Cravings and Appetite

An experimental obesity drug that combines the antidepressant bupropion and the addiction drug naltrexone reduces body weight by 5% or more after one year when combined with healthy diet and regular exercise, according to a new report published online in The Lancet.

If approved, the new drug may be the right choice for dieters who get waylaid by their food cravings because it taps into the brain’s craving and reward system in addition to curbing appetite. An FDA advisory panel is slated to review the drug, called Contrave, on Dec. 7. Manufacturer Orexigen Therapeutics, Inc. funded the new study.

In the 56-week study, participants received a high dose of the combination pill, a low dose, or a placebo twice a day. They were also advised to eat a low-calorie diet and engage in regular exercise. Those who took the higher dose of the new pill lost 6.1% of their body weight, while those who received the lower dose shed 5% of their body weight. By contrast, those people in the placebo group lost 1.3% of their body weight.

Fully 34% of people who took the high dose of the drug lost at least 10% of their body weight, compared with 11% who received the place

Yohimbine HCL helps to loose stubbern fat

Yohimbine pharmacology

People not trained in the medical professions usually have the impression that, with thousands of medications stocked at a well-sorted pharmacy, we have the power to interfere with human physiology in thousands of ways, each specific to a certain medication.

But this impression is wrong. The scope of what can be achieved with medications in general is much narrower than commonly believed.

There are a few well-established fields in which we can achieve a physiological effect through pharmacological means, and these windows of therapy are widely exploited for the treatment of a wide range of conditions, and with dozens or hundreds of medications that all have a basically similar effect.
